CISD Families:
As you are likely aware, the forecast calls for significant snow and potentially ice this weekend, which will likely have an impact on school next week. Though I will wait until we see what will happen to make any decisions on attendance, I wanted to be transparent about how that could look.
If the only major issue is roads in Cloverport and the surrounding area, we will follow this schedule as much as necessary:
· Monday, January 26th: NTI Day #6
· Tuesday, January 27th: No School for CIS or KYVA (makeup day on Friday, March 13th)
· Wednesday, January 28th: NTI Day #7
· Thursday, January 29th: No School for CIS or KYVA (makeup day on Friday, May 15th)
· Friday, January 30th: NTI Day #8
If there are widespread power or internet outages affecting many of our students, we will have to consider canceling school completely until their situation improves. Of course, those days will have to be made up. We would use the days mentioned above (March 13th and May 15th) as makeup days, then start adding to the end of the year as needed.
I am hopeful that things aren’t that bad and that the impact to our school schedule is minimal. However, I wanted to be transparent and let you know what things might look like next week if the weather is as bad as predicted. I will share my decision with you each day as soon as it is final.
